Workshop Schedule:
Color
Workshops: Color is the most complicated element in painting and requires systematic study. In this
class you will learn to see and mix colors using a limited palette as well as a double-primary hue palette. Each participant
will make a color chart for personal reference as you learn to integrate the three properties of color: hue, value &
saturation. This class is a prerequisite for taking the landscape workshop and is open to all levels. Two-day
workshops offered June 19 & 20 or August 21 & 22. Fee $200.
Plein-air
Landscape Workshops: Students will paint in plein air at the studio or nearby locations. Focus will
be on color and composition and decisive handling of the materials by making small and quick studies. The expression
of light and space will be directly connected to our experience in the color workshops. Critiques of the work will be
given at the end of each day. Open to those who have taken the color workshop or with permission. Two-day workshops
offered June 26 & 27 and August 28 & 29. Fee $200.
Classes
will be small to allow for individualized instruction.
Lunch daily is included in the fees.
